Leading the way for Rose-Hulman was freshman Sam Danesis (Akron, Ohio/Revere) with wins at number one singles and number one doubles. Danesis teamed with Julie Hopkins (Terre Haute/ Northview/Saddlebrook Acad.) to capture the number one doubles win 8-2.

Hopkins also came from behind 5-2 in the second set of her number two singles match to win 6-4, 7-5. Other singles winners were sophomore Katy Zawadski (Yorktown) at number four and sophomore Betsy Marschand (Galveston/Lewis Cass) at number five singles. Marschand was the deciding match winning 6-3 in the third set.

Danesis finishes conference play with an 8-0 record in singles and doubles. Hopkins finished with league records of 7-1 in singles and 6-2 at doubles.

Rose-Hulman will play either Bluftton, Defiance, or Transylvania on Friday in the first round of the eight team tournament.  The Engineers finish the regular season with a 9-4 overall record.
