  Rose-Hulman News Sam Danesis Ranked No. 17 in Central Region
 

Sam Danesis -- 20-3 in singles
and 17-5 in doubles this season.

TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman freshman Sam Danesis (Akron, Ohio/Revere) moved up nine spots to No. 17 in the Central Region, in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings.

Danesis is ranked 17th in the Great Lakes Region by the ITA after a historic season that featured a 20-3 singles record and a 17-5 doubles mark.  Her efforts included a perfect 11-0 records in singles and doubles play against HCAC opposition.

Danesis shattered Engineer school records for most singles wins, doubles wins and combined victories in a single-season with her efforts in 2006-07.  She is the first Rose-Hulman women's tennis player to ever earn a regional ranking from the ITA.

Danesis was also named HCAC Player of the Year in voting by league coaches following the 2006 league tournament.  Rose-Hulman finished second in the HCAC this season, in both the league tournament and regular season play.
