CRAWFORDSVILLE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman wrestling team finished tenth at the 2008 NCAA Midwest Regional meet on Saturday afternoon hosted by Wabash College.

The meet featured wrestlers from Case-Western Reserve University, Delaware Valley College, Manchester College, Millikin University, College of Mt. St. Joseph, Olivet College, Rose-Hulman, Thiel College, Tri-State University, Wabash College, Washington and Jefferson College, and Waynesburg University.

Junior Tyler Goble (Bloomington/South) paced the Rose-Hulman squad with a second place finish in the 165-pound weight class.

Goble improved to 21-5 on the season with a pin of Mt. St. Joe's Dave Harris and defeating David Bernholt of Case-Western Reserve and Stephen Mosier of Wabash before falling to top seeded Daron Druickshank of Olivet 4-2 in the championship bout.

Junior Rey Berumen (Indianapolis/Warren Central) came into the meet unseeded, but captured third place at 285-pounds and finish the afternoon with a 4-1 record.

Berumen tallied two pins over Waynesburg's Lawerance Neubauer and Olivet's Sean Misko after losing to second seeded Robert Gavlak of Case-Western Reserve in his opening bout.  Berumen completed the meet by earning a decision over Joshua Brewer of Washington & Jefferson to secure his third place finish.

Despite their strong performances, Goble and Berumen were not selected by the at-large committee of coaches to compete in the NCAA Division III Championships.  Goble does stand third in school history with 74 victories in his three seasons of collegiate wrestling.
