Ryan Schalk finished with a 2-1 record on his way to a 2nd place finish at the Midstates Wrestling Championships on Saturday.

TERRE HAUTE, IND. – The Rose-Hulman wrestling squad placed sixth at the 2008 Midstates Wrestling Conference Championships on Saturday afternoon at the Rose-Hulman SRC.

 

The meet featured seven teams including HCAC opponents Manchester and Mount St. Joseph.

 

The Engineers were led by juniors Tyler Goble (Bloomington/South) and Ryan Schalk (Centreville, Va./Westfield) who each earned second place finishes in their respectively weight classes.

 

Goble finished the meet with a 1-1 record at 165 pounds, while Schalk rounded out the afternoon with a 2-1 mark and recording two pins.

 

Rose-Hulman junior Rey Berumen (Indianapolis/Warren Central) helped the Engineer effort with a third place finish in the 285 pound weight class, tallying 3-1 record for the meet.

 

The Engineer wrestlers will be back in action on Friday, February 15th, in the HCAC Duel Meet hosted by Rose-Hulman.
