perfect 4-0 mark at Manchester. |
N. MANCHESTER, IND. –
Rose-Hulman junior Tyler Goble
(Bloomington/ South) captured the 165-pound title to lead
the Engineer efforts at the 10-team Manchester College Wrestling
Invitational on Saturday.
Goble finished with a 4-0 record and a pair of
pins at 165 pounds to earn the individual title. He pinned
Colin Swick of Ohio Northern and Wes Mathleu of
Wisconsin-Platteville in the first minute of matches, then
defeated Leon Allen of Ohio Northern 8-2 to reach the final.
In the championship match, Goble earned a
convincing majority decision over No. 1 seed A.J. Coleman of
Ohio Northern by a 12-1 count.
With the victory, Goble improved to 13-1 on the
season and 66-23 in his career with the four wins on Saturday.
Four Engineers each finished with 1-2 records to
provide depth for the team score.
Rose-Hulman returns to action at the Wabash
College Monon Bell Classic next Saturday.
