Tyler Goble Sets Rose-Hulman Single-Season Win Record to Lead Five Placements at NCAA Wrestling Regional

Tyler Goble set a school record with 30 wins and placed third in the NCAA Regional.

CLEVELAND, OHIO – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology freshman Tyler Goble (Bloomington/South) established a new single-season school record for victories to lead five placements at the NCAA Division III Wrestling Regional on Saturday.

Goble finished 3-1 overall at 165 pounds to improve to 30-9 on the record setting season. He surpassed the previous school record of 29 set by NCAA National Qualifier Matt Morin in 1992.

Freshman Ryan Schalk (Centreville, Va.) tied Morin's mark with 29 wins after a 2-2 performance that also netted third-place honors at 149 pounds.

Other placements for the Engineers included senior Ray Ahaus (Indianapolis/ Roncalli) with a fifth-place finish at 157 pounds; sophomore Nick Klaserner (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) with a fifth at 197 pounds; and freshman Jacob Wise (Indianapolis/Warren Central) with a sixth place at 125 pounds.

149 - Ryan Schalk (2-2) -- 3rd place
157 - Ray Ahaus (1-2) -- 5th place
