Tyler Goble won the 165-pound division at 4-0.

CINCINNATI, OHIO – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology recorded two first-place finishes and two third-places in the team's best ever showing at the Midstates Wrestling Conference Championships on Saturday at Mount St. Joseph.

 

Freshman Tyler Goble (Bloomington/South) won the 165-pound division with a 4-0 record and improved to 27-8 overall on the season. 

 

Freshman Ryan Schalk (Centreville, Va.) added the 149-pound title with a perfect 3-0 mark.  He improved to 27-13 on the season and stands 20-6 over the last six meets.

 

Ryan Schalk added a first-place at 149 pounds.

A pair of Engineers tallied third-place finishes to boost the team's overall finish to fifth place of nine teams.  Senior Ray Ahaus (Indianapolis/Roncalli) was 3-1 at the 157-pound division, while sophomore Nick Klaserner (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) finished 3-1 with two pins at 197 pounds.

 

Freshman Jacob Wise (Indianapolis/Warren Central) added a fifth-place finish in the 125-pound class, with a 2-2 mark and a pair of pins.

 

Rose-Hulman competes at the NCAA Division III Wrestling Regional this weekend at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
