Box Score

Jill Floyd scored a season-high 21 points on six three-pointers to lead the Engineers.
KALAMAZOO, MICH. -- University of the Redlands placed three players in double figures to earn a 60-54 victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in women's college basketball action on Sunday.

Senior Jill Floyd (Bloomington, Ill./ Olympia) led the Rose-Hulman offense with a season-high 21 points.  Floyd finished 6-7 from three-point range and 6-8 overall from the field for her sixth career game of more than 20 points.

A balanced offensive effort by the Redlands proved the difference.  Meghan Yetman led the offense with 14 points, with Ali Bueno and Rachae Bell adding 12 points each.

Other key contributors to the Rose-Hulman offense included freshman Donna Marsh (Mobile, Ala./Baker) with eight points and eight rebounds, and freshman Nicole Klass (Evansville/North) with a career-high eight points on a pair of three-pointers.

For her efforts over the two-game tournament, Marsh earned a spot on the Kalamazoo Classic all-tournament team.

Freshman Caroline Andersen (N. Manchester/Manchester) poured in a career-high six points and senior Katie Tharp (Linton) also tallied six points with five rebounds for the Engineers.

Rose-Hulman jumped out to a 21-8 advantage late in the first half on three-pointers by Floyd and senior Brittany Moline (Indianapolis/Perry Meridian), along with a field goal by freshman Shayna Banet (Canton, Ga./Woodstock).  The Redlands answered with a 26-4 run to close the first half and earn a nine-point edge at the break.

Rose-Hulman responded with a run of its own to close within 50-46 with 10:25 left on two straight three-pointers by Floyd.  The Redlands answered with another steady run to recapture a double digit lead, then held off an Engineer run in the final minute to secure the win.

The Redlands improved to 7-3 on the season with the victory, while Rose-Hulman stand 4-6.  The Engineers return to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action at Transylvania University on Saturday in Lexington, Ky.
