TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Robert Morris-Springfield relied on a balanced scoring attack to earn a 69-40 victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in women's basketball action on Thursday night.

Stephanie Brake led the Eagles with 18 points, while KeAmber Vaughn added 14 and Katie Fleetwood scored 13 for the victors.

For Rose-Hulman, junior Liz Ridgway (Grosse Pointe, Mich./Northwestern U.) scored 12 points on 6-8 from the field with seven rebounds to lead the offense.

Senior Jill Floyd (Bloomington, Ill./Olympia) added seven points, while sophomore Shayna Banet (Canton, Ga./Woodstock) pitched in with four points and seven rebounds.

Rose-Hulman and Robert Morris-Springfield battled to a 6-6 tie early in the contest, as Ridgway scored the first six Engineer points.

The Eagles relied on a 15-4 run to take a 21-10 lead midway through the first half and gradually pulled away for a 35-20 lead after 20 minutes.

Robert Morris-Springfield improved to 4-8 on the season, while Rose-Hulman dropped to 3-4 overall.  The Engineers return to action on Tuesday at Marian College in Indianapolis.
