TERRE HAUTE, IND. – The
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's basketball season officially
concluded with 19 school records, after the NCAA Division III Tournament
committee failed to award an at-large bid to the Engineers on Sunday
night.
Rose-Hulman compiled a 21-5 record
this season to establish four school marks. The Engineers tallied
records for wins (21), most conference victories (13), the best finish
in a conference season (2nd) and the longest winning streak in school
history (11 games).
Other single-season team records
included 463 made free throws by Rose-Hulman; 977 team rebounds; and 265
steals. Senior Suzy Carlson (State College, Pa.) recorded
the final season school record by burying 150 free throws.
The Engineers also established
three single-game school records in 2006-07. Senior Rebekah
Forsyth (Farmersburg/N. Central) set individual records with 38
points and 14 made field goals in a victory over Marian College (Ind.),
while the team set a mark with 34 made free throws in the Marian win.

The most memorable school records
may be the career marks established by Carlson and Forsyth.
Carlson recorded school records with 320 career assists, a 47.8%
three-point field goal accuracy rate and an 89.0% career mark on the
free-throw line.Forsyth
tallied five career school records to help lead the Engineers. She
scored 1,779 points, made 663 field goals, buried 428 free throws,
grabbed 1,062 rebounds and recorded 185 steals in the record setting
career.
Most importantly, the senior
class of Carlson, Forsyth, Katie Hamstra (Indianapolis/Park Tudor)
and Karyn Kost (Avon) tallied record of 68-45 over the last four
seasons of Rose-Hulman women's basketball.
The 2007-08 women's basketball
schedule will be released later this spring, when head coach Jon Prevo
finalizes dates and times. Prevo led the Engineers to a school
record 21 victories in his first season as head coach this winter.
The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference
received two bids to the NCAA Division III Tournament. Manchester earned
the automatic bid to the tourney, while Transylvania received an at-large bid.
