Suzy Carlson -- second-team all-region |
TERRE HAUTE, IND. – Rose-Hulman
Institute of Technology seniors Suzy Carlson (State College, Pa.)
and Rebekah Forsyth (Farmersburg/N. Central) earned all-region
honors from d3hoops.com in results released today.
Carlson claimed second-team
all-region honors, while Forsyth captured a spot on the third squad from
the national website. The effort marks the first time in
Rose-Hulman women's basketball history that a pair of teammates earned
all-region accolades.
The senior duo helped lead the
Engineers to a 21-5 record and a second-place finish in the HCAC this
season. Rose-Hulman tallied
school records for wins (21), most conference victories (13) and the longest winning streak in school
history (11 games).
Carlson averaged 15.3 points per
game and ranks second nationally in NCAA Division III at 92.0% from the
free-throw line. She dished out 88 assists and added 45 steals in
26 starts.
Carlson completes her Engineer
career with school records for assists (320), three-point accuracy
(47.8%) and free-throw accuracy (89.0%). She ranks third in school
history with 1,311 points, second in three-point field goals with 153,
sixth in blocked shots with 39, seventh in rebounds with 364 and third
in steals with 154.

Rebekah Forsyth -- third-team all-region |
Forsyth led the Engineers in
scoring and rebounding and 16.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per contest this
season. Her efforts ranked second in the league in scoring and
third in rebounding.
Forsyth's record setting career
featured 1,779 points, 663 field goals, 428 free throws, 1,062 rebounds
and 185 steals to establish school records. She also ranks third
in school history with 216 assists and 93 blocked shots.
Rose-Hulman set a total of 19 school
records in the 21-5 campaign, highlighted by snapping the school's single-season
win record by eight games.
