earned first-team all-league honors. |
TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman
Institute of Technology hitter Anna Lewer (Indianapolis,
Ind./ Lutheran) was named Heartland Collegiate Athletic
Conference Freshman of the Year and the volleyball team earned
two first-team all-league honors for the first time ever in
results released today.
Junior Amanda Jevons
(Henderson, Nev./Rancho) joined Lewer on the first-team
all-conference squad.
Lewer ranked 10th in
school history with 330 kills and ranked second on the team with
406 digs to help pace Rose-Hulman to its first 20-win season in
program history.
Lewer becomes the first
Fightin' Engineer to earn league Freshman of the Year honors and
also earned a spot on the conference's all-newcomer team.

Jevons recorded the
second-highest attack percentage in school history at .309 this
season and finished third on the team with 260 kills. Her
career hitting percentage of .301 stands as a current school
record and her 801 kills ranks seventh in the record book.
Jevons also ranks seventh
in school history with 190 total blocks, including 123 block
assists. She becomes just the third Rose-Hulman volleyball
player to earn multiple all-conference honors in her career,
joining four-time winner Jennifer Krause and three-time honoree
Lindsey Kerbel.
Rose-Hulman finished 20-13
overall for its highest winning percentage and most victories in
program history. The Fightin' Engineers also qualified for
a league postseason tournament for the first time since 1999
with a 4-4 conference mark.
