TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman
Institute of Technology head volleyball coach Brenda Goble has been inducted
into the Guilford College Athletic Hall of Fame for her efforts during a
standout playing career.
Goble was the 1993 Old Dominion
Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Year and a three-time, first-team
all-region selection as a middle hitter.
Goble continues to hold school
records at Guilford for kills, hitting percentage and solo blocks.
On the basketball court, Goble
was the ODAC Player of the Year in 1993 and 1994 and a three-time honorable
mention Kodak All-American. She received the North Carolina Collegiate
Award for Excellence in 1993 and the Nereus C. English Athletic Leadership Award
in 1992.
Goble has served as the only
volleyball coach in the history of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology since
arriving on campus in 1996. She has also served as head coach of the
women's basketball and tennis teams, along with her current role as the
department's Senior Women's Administrator. Her efforts helped Rose-Hulman
receive an 'A' rating in gender equity from the Women’s Sports Foundation.
