SWEET BRIAR, VA. --
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology improved to 12-8 on the
volleyball season with a 30-19, 30-27, 30-16 victory over Sweet
Briar College on Friday night.
Freshman Amanda Jevons (Henderson, Nev./ Rancho)
and seniors Erin Rumley
(Portage/ Christian) paced the balanced Engineer offense with eight kills
each.
Senior Amanda Fellows (Beavercreek, Ohio)
added seven service aces, with Jevons adding five. As a team, Rose-Hulman
recorded 24 service aces for the second most in school history.
Jevons also paced the team with
three blocks, while freshman Samantha
Gregory (Huntsville, Ala./Catholic) had a team-high 14 digs. Junior Brandi Sturgill (Zionville,
N.C./ Watauga) led the team with 32 assists.
Rose-Hulman improved to 12-8 on
the season and returns to action at the Bridgewater Triangular Match on
Saturday.
