Terre Haute,
Ind. - The Rose-Hulman volleyball team defeated MacMurray in
straight sets 30-11, 30-3, and 30-16 in their first match of the
2007 Rose-Hulman Invitational.
Sophomore Kate Sernett
(Crystal Lake, Ill.) and junior Sarah Messmer (Cincinnati, Ohio) led
the Engineer attack with 14 kills apiece, while freshman Amanda Jevons
(Henderson, Nev.) finished in double figures in kills with 11.
Junior Brandi Sturgill (Zionville,
N.C.) led with 30 assists with Jevons leading the team with seven service
aces.

Jevons led the defensive effort
as well, contributing nine digs. Sernett provided seven digs, while senior
Amanda Fellows (Beavercreek, Ohio) finished with six digs.
The Engineers moved to 2-0 for
the tournament by downing Dominican in three games 30-26, 30-24, 30-26. The win
was the fourth straight for Rose-Hulman, just one shy of a school record.
Rose-Hulman stands at 4-2 on
the year, and will open tomorrow's action by playing Lewis & Clark at 10 a.m.
and Eureka at Noon.
