CHICAGO, ILL. -
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology junior Sarah Messmer
(Cincinnati, Ohio/ McNicholas) earned a spot on the North
Park Invitational all-tournament team after helping the lead the
Engineers to a 5-0 record.
Messmer tallied team-highs of
61 kills (3.05/game), 12 aces (0.60/game) and 11 blocks (0.55/game), while
recording 66 digs (3.30/game) to lead the Engineers to five wins in the two-day
event.
Messmer's efforts included five
consecutive matches with double-figure kills and more than 20 digs in a pair of
wins. She tallied a career-high 27 digs in the five-game win over host
North Park on Saturday.
Rose-Hulman stands 10-3 overall
this season for its best start in school history. The Engineers will place
their school record six-game winning streak on the line at DePauw University on
Wednesday. Rose-Hulman returns home for its HCAC opener against Defiance
on Saturday at 11 a.m.
