Larry Cole, who has coached 49 NCAA Division III All-Americans in a 20-year head coaching career, enters his sixth season at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology this fall.

Cole helped lead the men's track and field program to its first conference championship since 1989 with a first-place finish in the 2008 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships.  The efforts included five all-conference honorees and a Most Valuable Field Events Award for senior standout Thomas Reives.

Cole has helped revitalize the Rose-Hulman women's track and field program, while continuing the tradition of men's success.  The women have established 35 school records in the last four years, including the team's best-ever finish with a third place in the 2007 HCAC Championships.

For his efforts, Cole was honored as the 2008 HCAC Men's Track and Field Coach of the Year for his third career league-wide award.

The Engineer men's team has featured nine individual conference champions in the last four seasons for a program that features 33 All-American awards by 14 student-athletes since 1975.  The 2007 season featured a third-place outdoor national finish by All-American pole vaulter Ryan Schipper.
