Sutton Coleman (Lebanon, Va.) and Liz Ridgway (Grosse Pointe,
Mich./ Northwestern University) have been named Heartland
Collegiate Athletic Conference Track and Field Athletes of the Week
for their efforts on Friday night.
Coleman
captured the 400-meter intermediate hurdles and triple jump titles
at the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet on Friday night. Coleman's time of 53.67 seconds in the 400 hurdles
marked an improvement on his mark that had previously ranked 11th
nationally entering the meet. His triple jump leap covered 45' 3 3/4".

Coleman
also served as the anchor leg of the 4-x-100 meter relay squad that
placed third overall in a time of 43.65 seconds. He rounded
out the evening with a fourth place in the 110-high hurdles in a
time of 15.21 seconds.
Ridgway
claimed the javelin throw title in a field of student-athletes from
10 institutions with a mark of 116' 1".
The throw
marked the second time this year that Ridgway has established a
school record in the women's javelin throw.
Rose-Hulman
will host the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Track
and Field Championships starting Friday. |
