HAUTE, IND. - The Rose-Hulman men's track and field team has moved
up to No. 23 in the nation in this week's poll by the
U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The
Engineers are ranked No. 23 in the nation and No. 4 in the Great Lakes Region in this week's rankings from the organization.
The
USTFCCA uses a criteria that evaluates the top two performances in
each event that is conducted at the NCAA Division III Track and
Field Outdoor National Championships and assigns a numerical value
based upon the quality of the mark.
Last
week, the Engineers claimed their first Heartland Collegiate
Athletic Conference men's track and field team championship and
their first overall league title since 1989. The effort
included four first-place efforts, including wins in the long jump
and triple jump by senior Thomas Reives (Indianapolis/Arsenal
Tech).
Selected
individuals will return to action at the Billy Hayes Invitational at
Indiana University on Friday May 9.
