  Rose-Hulman News Six Top-Five Finishes Highlight Wabash Invitational
 

Susan Nickol earned one of Rose-Hulman's six top-five finishes at the Wabash Invitational.

MEET RESULTS

CRAWFORDSVILLE, IND. - The Rose-Hulman track and field squad picked up six top-five finishes at the Wabash Open Indoor Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

On the men's side, freshman David Caldwell (Plymouth) placed second in the 2000-meter steeplechase in a time of 6:26.26 to earn the top placing for the Engineers.

Senior Thomas Reives (Indianapolis/Arsenal Tech) took third place with leap of 6'2" in the high jump to contribute to the Rose-Hulman effort. 

Other top finishes for the men included a fourth place finish by junior Ian Thomas (Pennville, Jay County) in the 3000-meter run (9:12.57), and four sixth place finishes by sophomores Michael Burris (Terre Haute/North) in the 55-meter hurdles (8.11), Eric Clark (Wooster, Ohio/Triway) in the mile run (4:35.34), and Jonathan Rogers (Terre Haute/North) in the pole vault (13' 5 1/4") and freshman Derek Bischak (Angola) in the 800-meter run (2:00.64)

For the women, freshman Anastasia Tarpeh (Cincinnati, Ohio/Walnut Hills) broke her own Rose-Hulman school record en route to taking second place in the 55-meter dash in 7.39 seconds.

Senior Rachel Krasich (Westfield) tallied another second place finish for the Engineer women, completing the 2000-meter steeplechase in 7:21.42.

Fellow senior Susan Nickol (Solon, Ohio/Beaumont) rounded out the top-five performances for Rose-Hulman, taking fifth in the mile run with a mark of 5:41.71.

The Engineer track and field teams will return to action on Saturday, February 16th, when they host the Hoosier-Buckeye Invitational at 2 p.m. in the Rose-Hulman SRC.
