ADA, OHIO -  Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior Ryan Schipper (Fort Wayne/Dwenger) improved his NCAA Division III track and field championship qualification chances with a 16' 0" leap to win the pole vault at the Ohio Northern Invitational on Friday.

Schipper narrowly missed three attempts at the automatic height of 16' 6" but improved his best height of the season by five inches with the win.  He previously provisionally qualified at Rose-Hulman in February.

Junior Thomas Reives (Indianapolis/ Tech) cleared 6' 4" in the high jump to finish second in the high jump, while freshman Jonathan Rogers (Terre Haute/North) cleared 13' 5 1/4" to finish sixth in the pole vault.

Freshman Michael Burris (Terre Haute/North) added a third-place finish in the 55-meter high hurdles with a time of 8.06 to round out the team effort.

Selected individuals will compete at the DePauw Invitational next Friday in Greencastle.  Rose-Hulman will host the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships on Mar. 9-10 at the Sports and Recreation Center.
