  Rose-Hulman News Rose-Hulman Men's Swimming and Diving Finishes Second, Women Third In Rose-Hulman Relays
 

Deborah Aleksa helped her team win the 1500 yard Free Relay.  The Women's Team  Finished Third Place At The Rose-Hulman Relays.

MEET RESULTS

TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Fightin' Engineer swimming and diving teams opened their 2009-10 schedule with the annual Rose-Hulman Relays on Saturday.  .

The men were led by the 1meter diving team which won the event with a score of 508.00.  The team consisted of junior Mark Parzych (Pearland, Texas/Central) and senior Michael Gerdov (Lincolnshire, Ill/Adlai Stevenson).

The women were led by two teams which won their respective events.  The 300 yard backstroke relay team of senior Stephanie Hance (Noblesville, Ind) junior Heather Wiest (Arlington Heights, Ill./ Buffalo Grove) and freshman Carley Shumate (Colorado Springs, Colo./ Pine Creek) won with a time of 3:19.04. 

The 1500 yard Free Relay team of junior Katie Trella (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine Township) freshman Shannon Cunnien (Brooklyn Park, Minn./ Benilde-St. Margaret) and senior Deborah Aleksa (Glendale, Ariz./ Dear Valley) one of four second-place finishes with a time of 17:28.24.

 
The swimming teams are in action again next Saturday as they travel to Illinois Wesleyan.
