Cara Noel begins her first season as head women's
golf and assistant women's basketball coach at Rose-Hulman Institute
of Technology this season.
Noel has spent the past two seasons in the
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference as the head women's tennis
and assistant basketball coach at Bluffton University. Her
efforts were centered on recruiting, academic monitoring, scouting
and game preparation, along with the scheduling and budget for the
tennis program.
On the links, Noel has played golf for the last
five years and worked at Lakeland Golf Course in Ohio for the past
four summers. She began the first ladies golf league for young
professionals at Lakeland Golf Course.
"I'm excited to come to Rose-Hulman. This is
a great opportunity to have two great loves of my life, golf and
basketball, intersect into the perfect job for me. Golf is a
life long mental game that can be challenging and rewarding from
shot to shot. I'm also familiar with HCAC basketball and am
looking forward to continue competing in a top NCAA Division III
athletic conference," said Noel.
Prior to her Bluffton experience, Noel served as
head women's basketball coach at Fostoria High School in Ohio, where
she led and conducted all elements of the program. She
previously coached two seasons of middle school basketball and
served as student assistant coach during her entire four-year
academic career at Ohio Northern University.
Noel served as a careers and social skills teacher
at Fostoria Middle School for one year, after spending a year as a
primary substitute teacher for the Hancock County School District.
Noel earned a bachelor's degree in health and
physical education from Ohio Northern in 2005 and captured a
master's degree in education from Bluffton University in 2009.
She has a multi-age teacher license in health and physical
education, and is certified in First Aid, CPR and WSI.
