During his playing career, Dixon played for a University of Incarnate Word squad that reached the NCAA Division II Elite Eight in 2004 and reached the postseason three times.  He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and is pursuing a master's degree in physical education and coaching at Indiana State University.
