TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology sophomore Jordan Goslee (St. Joseph, Mich.)
set a pair of school records, including a 16-strikeout
performance, to lead the Engineers to a softball split against
Anderson on Sunday.
Goslee established school records for strikeouts
in a game and a season during a performance that featured 16
strikeouts among her 21 total outs. Her school record
total for strikeouts stands at 117 in 79 innings.
Goslee allowed just two hits and one walk in a
performance that helped Rose-Hulman win 2-0 in the nightcap.
Anderson won the opener by an 11-1 margin.
Offensively, the Engineers relied on timely
hitting and five Anderson fielding errors to earn the victory.
Sophomore Brittany Bernthold (Fisherville, Ky./Eastern)
had a double and an RBI, while senior Katie Yiznitsky
(Hamilton, Ohio/Fairfield) scored one run and single in the
victory.
In the opener, Anderson relied on 14 hits to earn
an 11-1 victory. Julia Siefring led the Anderson offense
with a three-run home run.
For the Engineers, senior Ashley Montgomery
(Plainfield) slapped two singles and had one RBI to lead the
offense.
Rose-Hulman stands 19-9 on the season and 9-3 in
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, while Anderson dropped
to 12-18 overall and 6-4 in league play with the split.
The Engineers return to action with home games against Mount St.
Joseph on Wednesday and St. Mary-of-the-Woods on Thursday.
