TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology sophomore Jordan Goslee (St. Joseph, Mich.)
has been named both the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference
Hitter and Pitcher
of the Week for her efforts in Saturday's twinbill sweep over
Transylvania.
Goslee became the first player in Rose-Hulman
softball history to capture both the conference Hitter and
Pitcher honors during the same week.
Her efforts at the plate included a .571 batting
average as the Engineers swept Transylvania in each school’s
HCAC opener.
Goslee hit three doubles, scored three runs, and
added three RBI in the two victories. She slugged 1.000 and
added an on-base percentage of .571 during the week.
In the circle, Goslee threw a complete-game
two-hitter in the Engineers’ 6-1 win over Transylvania in the
second game of the doubleheader. She struck out eight Pioneers
on the afternoon and held Transy hitters to a .080 batting
average on the day.
On the season, Goslee has scored five runs and
smashed three doubles on offense, while compiling a record of
3-1 and a 1.48 earned run average as a pitcher.
The Engineers stand 10-2 on the season and 2-0 in
HCAC play. Rose-Hulman travels to Bluffton for a
doubleheader on Saturday, before returning home for two games
against St. Mary's College of South Bend on Sunday.
