TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology softball team swept Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors after recording the best spring trip record in school history last week.

Sophomore Darcie Thomas (Brighton, Mich.) has been named the HCAC Offensive Player of the Week, while senior Katie Maggard (Floyds Knobs/Floyd Central) captured league Pitcher of the Week accolades.

Thomas batted .360 with two doubles and a .440 slugging average to pace Rose-Hulman's offensive effort as part of a 6-2 overall record.

Thomas finished 9-25 at the plate with five runs scored, two doubles, four walks and a .448 on-base average.  Her top effort was a 3-4 performance against Ohio Northern University.

In the circle, Maggard recorded a 2-1 record with two complete games, a 2.10 earned run average and a shutout in four starts.
