Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology sophomore Jordan Goslee (St. Joseph, Mich.) has been named the Heartland Collegiate
Athletic Conference Player of the Month for April in results released
today.
To earn the award, Goslee was selected as the top female athlete in any sport at any
institution during the month of October by league sports information
directors. Each college is permitted one nominee for the entire athletic
department per month, and the nine nominees are placed on one ballot for
voting.
Goslee is the eighth Fightin' Engineer student athlete to
capture Player of the Month honors in the college's two years in the
HCAC.
Goslee's efforts helped the Rose-Hulman softball team
achieve a school record mark of 25-12 this season, including the team's
first regular season conference championship. She posted an 8-1
record and an 0.82 earned run average during April.
She recorded 89 strikeouts in 60 innings of work in the
month, with just seven earned runs and 43 hits allowed. Goslee
earned three HCAC Player of the Week honors during the season, including
a week that featured a 3-0 mark with a 0.37 earned run average for one
stretch in mid-April.
For the season, Goslee ranked among the conference
leaders in earned run average (1.05), opposing batting average (.194),
strikeouts (148) and wins (12).
