HANOVER, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology secured a home game for the upcoming Heartland
Collegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer tournament with a
1-0 victory at Hanover College on Saturday.
Sophomore Rhys Evans (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake
Forest) drilled home the game winner in the 64th minute to
give the Engineers the lone score of the day. Freshman
Corbin Clow (Martinsville) provided the assist.
Senior Trey Buck (Austin, Texas/ Ohio State)
provided a strong performance in goal to earn the shutout.
Buck recorded eight saves in the match to give the Panthers off
the board, despite an 18-12 advantage in shots by Hanover.
Freshman Mitch Buffington (O'Fallon, Ill.)
led the Engineer offense with three shots and junior Trevor
Miller (Okemos, Mich.) added a pair of shots in the contest.
With the win, Rose-Hulman secured the No. 2 seed
for the upcoming HCAC Men's Soccer Tournament and will host
Manchester College on Tuesday afternoon. The game field
and time will be announced on Monday.
Rose-Hulman improved to 12-6-1 overall and
finished the HCAC regular season at 6-1-1 with the victory.
Hanover, the No. 4 seed for the upcoming tournament, stands
5-11-1 overall and 3-4-1 in league play.
