  Rose-Hulman News Four Goals in 20 Minutes Lead Rose-Hulman Past Anderson
 

Mitch Buffington capped a four goal in 20 minute spurt with his first career score.

ANDERSON, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology turned a scoreless men's soccer matchup into a 5-0 victory with four goals in 20 minutes at Anderson on Wednesday.

With the score tied and four minutes left in the opening half, senior Matt Trowbridge (Fort Collins, Colo./Poudre) scored on a penalty kick to give the Engineers a 1-0 lead.

Rose-Hulman added another score just before halftime, when sophomore Rhys Evans (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) booted home a goal with 1:22 left in the first half.  Junior Trevor Miller (Okemos, Mich.) was credited with the assist.

The Engineers continued the scoring just five minutes into the second half, when Miller scored his second goal of the season on a pass from Trowbridge to make the score 3-0.

Freshman Mitch Buffington (O'Fallon, Ill.) finished the rally with the team's fourth goal of the day in the 60th minute.  Freshman Nick Race (Martinsville) earned the assist.

Rose-Hulman added its final score of the day when freshman Mitchell Ishmael (Knoxville, Tenn./Farragut) tallied a goal on a pass from freshman Brad Holland (Prospect, Ky./North Oldham) in the 71st minute.

Senior Trey Buck (Austin, Texas/Ohio State U.) captured the victory in goal with three saves in 73 minutes of action.  The Engineers improved to 7-5-1 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play and return to action with a home match on Friday against Finlandia University.
