LEXINGTON, KY -- The Rose-Hulman men's soccer
team fell to defending HCAC Champions Transylvania by a score of
3-0 on Saturday in Lexington.
The Pioneers, who entered the game undefeated and
ranked 14th nationally, scored in the 4th minute to take a 1-0
lead early in the contest.
Transylvania added another goal late in the 1st
half, scoring in the 29th minute, making the score 2-0 after 45
minutes of play.
The Pioneers added their final goal on a penalty
kick in the 63rd minute, rounding at the scoring.
Junior Trevor Miller (Okemos, Mich., Okemos)
led the Engineer attack with two shots, while senior Trey
Buck (Austin, Texas, Ohio State Univ.) tallied four saves in
goal in the defeat.
The loss dropped the Engineer's to 6-4 on the
2007 campaign, and 2-1 in HCAC play. The men's squad will
return to action on Wednesday, September 26 when they travel to
DePauw to take on the rival Tigers.
