TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology senior Matt Trowbridge (Fort Collins,
Colo./Poudre) scored three goals to lead the Engineers past
Mount St. Joseph 6-0 in men's soccer action on Sunday.
With the victory, the Engineers improve to 2-0 in
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play and are 5-3
overall on the season.
Trowbridge scored in the 17th minute on a pass
from sophomore John Hollingshead (St. Peters, Mo./ Lutheran).
His second goal came in the 26th minute on a pass from freshman
Joe Salisbury (Ft. Wayne/ Homestead).
Rose-Hulman increased its lead to 3-0 in the 32nd
minute, when freshman Brad Holland (Prospect, Ky./N. Oldham)
scored on a pass from Trowbridge.
The Engineers added a fourth goal in the opening
45 minutes on a score by freshman Mitchell Ishmael
(Knoxville, Tenn./Farragut), courtesy of a pass from
Holland.
Trowbridge earned the hat trick with the lone
goal of the second half, after a pass from junior Trevor
Miller (Okemos, Mich.).
Holland completed a five-point game with his
second score of the day, with an assist from sophomore Sean
Marriner (Hagerstown, Md./South).
Senior Trey Buck (Austin, Texas/Ohio State)
and junior Isaac Heyveld (Peoria, Ill./Dunlap)
combined on the shutout in goal for the Engineers.
Rose-Hulman returns to action on Wednesday with a
home matchup against Millikin University at the Engineer
Intramural Field.
