Rose-Hulman Men's Soccer
Shuts Out Illinois Wesleyan 1-0, Improves to 7-2-1
TERRE HAUTE, IND. – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology improved to 7-2-1 on the season with a 1-0 shutout victory over Illinois Wesleyan in men's soccer action on Monday evening. Junior Matt Trowbridge (Fort Collins, Colo./Poudre) provided the lone score of the night with a goal in the 26th minute by finishing a crossing pass from senior Chris Banner (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills). Defensively, junior Trey Buck (Austin, Texas/Ohio State) was in top form for the Engineers in the shutout with a career-high eight saves. Buck's effort included a diving save off a free kick from Jason Lopez of Illinois Wesleyan with 2:38 remaining. Illinois Wesleyan outshot the Engineers 16-8 in the contest, with Daniel Skultety (Lincoln, Neb./Southwest) pacing Rose-Hulman with a pair of shots. The Engineers return to action on Saturday at Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Manchester at 2 p.m. |
