Drops First Conference Loss in 1-0 Game to Perennial HCAC Favorites
Transylvania
TERRE HAUTE, IND. – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology dropped its first ever Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference game in men's soccer to perennial conference favorites Transylvania University on a rainy Saturday afternoon at the Rose-Hulman Intramural Field. Offensively, the Engineers were led by senior Isaac Nolan (Mason City, Iowa) who had Rose-Hulman's lone shot on goal. The Engineers were out shot nine to four on the day. After holding the Pioneers scoreless in the first half, Transylvania came out firing and Pioneer Matt Vogel received a corner kick from teammate Ryan Wood to score the game winning goal on a header, and his first goal of the season. The Engineers dropped to 6-2-1 on the year and stand 1-1 in the HCAC, while Transylvania rose to a 6-1-1 season record and 2-0 in the conference. The Engineers return to action Monday night against Illinois Wesleyan at the Rose-Hulman Intramural Field at 7 p.m. |
