TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology men's and women's soccer teams each captured
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week
accolades for their efforts over the weekend.
Freshman Molly Richardson (Orange Park,
Fla./St. John's Country Day) scored both goals to lead
Rose-Hulman to a pair of 1-0 women's soccer victories this
weekend.
Senior Matt Trowbridge (Fort Collins,
Colo./Poudre) poured in five goals, including a hat trick
against Mt. St. Joseph and both goals in a 2-1 win at Defiance.
Richardson scored in the 9th minute against
Defiance to lead the Engineers to a victory on Saturday in their
league opener. She leads the HCAC with seven goals and 16
points this season.
On Sunday, Richardson scored at the 2:57 mark of
sudden death overtime in Rose-Hulman's 1-0 victory over Mount
St. Joseph. The Engineers stand 6-2 overall this season
and are 2-0 in HCAC contests.

Trowbridge scored the most dramatic goal of the
HCAC weekend by burying an overtime winner with 17 seconds left at Defiance.
His second goal of the day lifted the Engineers to a 2-1 win.
Against Mount St. Joseph, Trowbridge scored the first two goals
of the contest to lead the 6-0 victory. He added a third goal for his
second career hat trick in the second half.
Trowbridge leads the HCAC with nine goals and 20 points scored
this season.
Rose-Hulman stands 5-3 on the season and is also 2-0 in league
play. The Engineers host Millikin University in a soccer doubleheader on
Wednesday at the Intramural Field.
