TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology earned a pair of Heartland Collegiate Athletic
Conference Player of the Week honorees for last weekend's
efforts.
Sophomore Michael Schoumacher (Memphis, Tenn.)
has been named the league Men's Tennis Player of the Week, while
senior Rachel Krasich (Westfield) claimed the Women's
Track and Field Athlete of the Week award.
Schoumacher finished with a 2-0 at the No. 1
singles and No. 1 doubles positions in Engineer victories over
Hanover College and Defiance College on Saturday.
Schoumacher helped the Engineers improve to 3-1
in HCAC play and 3-4 overall on the season with his efforts in
Saturday's victories.

Krasich earned her second win in three weeks of
outdoor competition in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with her victory at the Ohio
Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday.Krasich topped a
field of nine student-athletes from six institutions to win the event. She
holds the school record with a mark of 11:26.45 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase
at Rhodes College on March 29.
Krasich previously became the first women's cross country
runner in school history to qualify for the NCAA Division III National
Championships with her efforts last fall.
The men's tennis team returns to HCAC action with matches
against Bluffton, Franklin and Mount St. Joseph this weekend. The track
and field squad will compete in the Little State Meet in Indianapolis starting
Friday.
