TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology junior track athlete Matt Repking (Effingham,
Ill./Teutopolis) and senior tennis player Steve Shepson
(Redlands, Calif.) were named Heartland Collegiate Athletic
Conference Players of the Week today.
Repking finished second at the NCAA Division I
Purdue University Invitational in the 3,000-meter steeplechase
on Saturday.
Competing against nine Division I runners from
Notre Dame, Valparaiso and Western Illinois, Repking came home
just one second off the victory with a time of 9:44.74 for an
impressive second-place finish to earn HCAC Player of the Week
honors.

Repking joins teammates Janel Belton and Ryan
Schipper as HCAC Players of the Week this season.
Shepson helped propel Rose-Hulman to a 7-2
victory over Earlham with victories at the No. 3 singles and No.
2 doubles positions on Saturday.
Shepson won a 6-1, 6-0 decision in singles and
teamed with Daniel LaPlante for an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles to
earn HCAC Player of the Week honors.
Shepson is the third men's tennis player to earn
league Player of the Week honors this season, joining teammates
Joe Rottman and Michael Schoumacher.
