  Rose-Hulman News Rose-Hulman Improves to 5-5 with Victory Over Earlham
 

TERRE HAUTE, IND. – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology moved to 5-5 on the men's tennis season with a 6-2 victory over Earlham College on Friday night.

The match began at Rose-Hulman's Joy Hulbert Tennis Center, before being moved to the Wabash Valley Tennis Center due to rain.

The Engineers relied on three doubles victories to set the tone for the day.  Sophomores Michael Schoumacher (Memphis, Tenn.) and Scott Grubbs (Wildwood, Mo.) earned an 8-6 victory at the No. 1 position, freshmen David Becerra (Brownsburg) and Ryan Taylor (Franklin) won 8-2 at No. 2, and sophomore Matt Rusin (Dublin, Ohio) teamed with Brent Frizzell (Avon) to win by an 8-0 margin at No. 3.

Rose-Hulman finished with three singles victories in the match.  Beccera, freshman Seth Hendrickson (Crawfordsville) and freshman Alex Gumz (Palatine, Ill.) captured two-set wins in the match.

Rose-Hulman travels to Bluffton University to square off with Mount St. Joseph and Bluffton in Heartland Conference matches on Saturday.
