  Rose-Hulman News Rose-Hulman Moves to 4-2 in HCAC with Win Over Anderson
 

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology improved to 4-2 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a 7-2 victory over Anderson University on Thursday.

The Engineers relied on three doubles victories to set the tone for the day.  Sophomores Michael Schoumacher (Memphis, Tenn.) and Scott Grubbs (Wildwood, Mo.) earned an 8-6 victory at the No. 1 position, freshmen David Becerra (Brownsburg) and Ryan Taylor (Franklin) won 8-2 at No. 2, and sophomore Matt Rusin (Dublin, Ohio) teamed with Brent Frizzell (Avon) to win by a 9-7 margin at No. 3.

Rose-Hulman finished with four singles victories in the match.  Schoumacher, Taylor and freshman Seth Hendrickson (Crawfordsville) captured two-set wins, with Becerra adding a three-set victory.

Rose-Hulman improved to 4-5 on the season and returns to action with a home match against Earlham College on Friday.
