  Rose-Hulman News Engineers Finish HCAC Regular Season at 5-3 After Topping Defiance
 

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology improved to 7-7 on the season and finished the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season with a 5-3 mark after defeating Defiance College 7-2 at the West Indy Racquet Club on Saturday.

Four Engineers earned victories in both singles and doubles play. Senior Joe Rottman (Evansville/Castle) earned a No. 1 singles win, and joined No. 5 singles winner Michael Schoumacher (Memphis, Tenn.) in doubles play.

Seniors Steve Shepson (Redlands, Calif.) added wins at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles, while freshman Scott Grubbs (Wildwood, Mo.) earned victories at No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles.

Rose-Hulman returns to action on Sunday at noon, with a match against Indiana Tech at Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis.
