CRAWFORDSVILLE, IND. – Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology received a pair of second-place performances from
freshmen at the Wabash College Kerry Seward Tennis Invitational
on Saturday and Sunday.
Freshman Michael Schoumacher (Memphis, Tenn.)
nearly earned top honors with a second place at the No. 6
singles slot. Schoumacher won his first two matches, then
split the first two sets in the championship match before
falling in a super tiebreak.
Freshman Scott Grubbs (Wildwood, Mo.)
matched Schoumacher with a second-place singles finish after two
wins to start the weekend.
Rose-Hulman stands 3-5 on the season and
returns to non-league action next Saturday at Earlham.
