TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman men's golf team
captured the Little Giant- Engineer Cup for the first time in
the last three tries with a 10.5-8.5 victory over Wabash College
in a Ryder Cup style men's golf match at Hulman Links on
Tuesday.
The score was tied until the final two matches
returned to the clubhouse. Sophomore Brian Kiraly
(Granger) and senior Ryan Mitchell (Fishers) claimed
the points that clinched the win for Rose-Hulman. Mitchell
trailed by two at the turn before rallying for the 2-up victory.
Junior Bret Holbrook (Weems, Va.) and
junior Kyle Wilson (Duluth, Minn.) paced
the Engineers individually with rounds of 77. Senior
Jeff Pekarek (Solon, Ohio) added a match-play win for the
Engineers.
Rose-Hulman returns to action at the Franklin
College Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
