Cory Wright Earns Academic All-District Honors
TERRE HAUTE, IND.-- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior Cory Wright (Mooresville) has earned second-team academic all-district recognition from ESPN The Magazine and the College Sports Information Directors of America for the third consecutive year. Wright claimed a spot on the college division men's at-large District V second-team, consisting of student-athletes from six states in fencing, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, swimming, tennis and wrestling. During the golf season, Wright led the Rose-Hulman squad with an average score of 77.9, including a career-best round of 73 at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament in his final tournament. Wright broke the 80-stroke barrier for a round 12 times in 2006. As a field goal kicker for the football team in 2005, Wright made seven of 11 field goal attempts, including a 47-yard effort. In the classroom, the mechanical engineering major maintains a 3.85 grade point average and was selected academic all-conference in both sports during each of his four college seasons. |
