BLUFFTON, OHIO -- The bats for Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology heated up as the Fightin' Engineers captured a 13-1 and 20-5 doubleheader sweep over Bluffton University on Saturday afternoon.

In the opener, juniors Andrew Bilse (Munster) and Tim Tepe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) smashed three hits each to lead a 15-hit attack.

Bilse blasted a home run and scored four runs, while Tepe smashed a school record tying three doubles to lead the game one performance.

Sophomore Chris Stemple (Mount Vernon) contributed two singles and four RBIs, with sophomore Kreigh Williams (Ossian/Norwell) adding a single and double.  Junior Troy Eveslage (Ramsey/North Harrison) also scored two runs for the Engineers.

The offensive effort helped make a winner of sophomore Gannon Sadzeck (Crystal Lake, Ill./Central), who tossed a complete game six-hitter with two strikeouts to move to 2-1 on the season.

Rose-Hulman smashed the fourth most hits in a game in school history with a 22-hit, 20-run effort in game two.  Eveslage paced the offense with four hits, including a double, and three runs scored.

Tepe launched a grand slam, scored three runs and had two hits to provide support.  Junior Chandler Kent (Antioch, Ill.) added a home run, triple, single, three RBIs and two runs, with Stemple pitching in three singles and four RBIs.

Williams recorded two more hits and scored three runs, and junior Keenan Long (Park Ridge, Ill./Northwestern University) contributed his seventh home run of the season, three RBIs and a pair of runs.

Junior Nick Maloney (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) benefited from the offensive output to move to 4-1 on the season.  Maloney allowed five hits and one run with three strikeouts in six innings of work.

Rose-Hulman improved to 22-11 overall and 12-6 in league play, while Bluffton stands 10-19 and 4-11 in league games.  The Engineers host Anderson University in another conference matchup on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
