The Engineers outlasted Emory and Henry 16-12 in a slugfest on Tuesday afternoon.

The Engineers pounded out 22 hits in the 16-12 victory to mark the fourth-most hits in a game in school history.  Sophomore Tim Tepe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) added three hits, including a double, with one run scored.  Sophomores Nathaniel Miles (Indianapolis/Warren Central) and Kirk Thompson (Harrisburg, Ill.) each pitched in with two hits.

Sophomore Charlie Vana (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) tossed 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to earn his first college victory.

Rose-Hulman relied on a solid team effort in an 8-1 win over Ohio Northern on Wednesday.  Freshman Gannon Sadzeck (Crystal Lake, Ill./Central) highlighted the day with a complete game effort on the mound that featured five strikeouts and just one run allowed on 10 hits.

Offensively, Long finished with three singles and two runs scored, while Tepe blasted his second home run of the Spring Trip to help Rose-Hulman break open a close game that was 1-1 into the sixth inning.
