TERRE HAUTE, IND. -
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior Matt Salisbury (Fort Wayne/
Homestead) capped his historic baseball career with Heartland Collegiate
Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors, in results released today.
Salisbury set a pair
of school records during the final week of his playing career, becoming the
all-time hits leader and school record holder in runs scored at Rose-Hulman.
Salisbury's career
marks in the Rose-Hulman record book include 194 hits, 150 runs scored, 57
doubles and 100 walks. He also ranks second all-time with a .484 on-base
average and seven pitching saves on the mound.
Other career top 10
rankings in the Rose-Hulman record book for Salisbury include fifth in batting
average (.376), sixth in slugging (.576), seventh in RBIs (110), 10th in home
runs (12),
Last week,
Salisbury
was 8-16 from the plate with two doubles and a .625 slugging average.
Rose-Hulman finished with its 16th winning season in the last 17 years, with a
21-18 team record and a fifth-place in the HCAC at 12-10.
