The Engineers were led by freshman Chandler Kent (Antioch, Ill.), who batted four for seven on the evening, with a double, five runs scored, two runs batted in and a walk, and senior Matt Salisbury (Fort Wayne/ Homestead) hitting three for seven with a pair of doubles, two runs batted in, a walk, and scoring once.

Junior Luis Bougrat (Franklin, Tenn./Battle Ground Academy) threw 6.1 innings, allowing four runs and fanning three in game one for his fifth win of the season, keeping an undefeated record at 5-0.  In the second game, senior Brad Otto (Bath/Union County) threw five innings, allowing three runs and fanning two for the game two win.

Junior Sam Deters (Teutopolis, Ill.) came in to record the last two outs of the second game, facing only three batters for his fourth save.  Deters moves within one save of his record setting 2006 performance.

Matt Salisbury drove in a pair of runs with a pair of doubles on the day.

In game one, the Engineers jumped to an early 3-0 lead when Braun scored on an infield single by senior Josh Nash (Elizabethtown, Ky./Central Hardin) and senior Kellen Hurst (Noblesville) scored on a fielder's choice by Kent and a balk scored Knaack.

After Bluffton scored a run in the third inning, Rose-Hulman responded with a run of their own in the fifth as Braun singled through the left side, reached second on a wild pitch, and scored on a single through the right side by Hurst.

The Engineers and Bluffton traded runs in the bottom of the sixth and the top of the seventh, bringing the score to 5-2 heading to the bottom of the seventh.  The Beavers would score two more runs in the seventh, but it was not enough as the Engineers take a game one victory, 5-4.

In game two, Bluffton made the first move, scoring a run in the first inning for a score of 1-0 Beaver lead.  But the Engineers took the only Bluffton lead of the night back when Rose-Hulman scored three runs on a Knaack double to right field, a Kent single down the right field line, and an error on the left fielder from a Focke single to left field.

The Engineers added to their 3-1 lead, scoring Kent and Salisbury on a double to center field by senior Matt Pepelea (Terre Haute/South), bringing the score to 5-1.  Bluffton added a pair of their own runs to bring the score to 5-3, but Rose-Hulman responded with a run of their own as a Salisbury double to center field scored Kent.

Adding three more runs in the eighth, the Engineers brought the lead to 9-3.  Bluffton scored one more run in the bottom of the ninth, but Rose-Hulman held on for the doubleheader sweep, 9-4.

Rose-Hulman improved to 16-10 (9-4 HCAC) overall, while Bluffton dropped to a 1-7 (1-6 HCAC) season mark.  The Engineers play the final game of the three game series at Bluffton tomorrow at noon
