Matt Repking -- All-Academic Men's Cross Country Individual Honoree

TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men’s cross country team has earned all-academic status by ranking 16th nationally in team grade point average from the United States Track and Field Coaches Association.

Senior women's cross country standouts Rachel Krasich (Westfield) and Matt Repking (Effingham, Ill./Teutopolis) also earned individual All-Academic honors from the organization.

The Engineer men’s cross country team carries a cumulative grade point average of 3.43 to rank 16th among the 98 squads that qualified for the team award.  All-academic teams are required to hold a 3.1 grade point average and compete at the NCAA Division III Regional.

Individual award winners are required to earn all-region honors in cross country and maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average over the defined term of the award.

Krasich, who qualified for the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country National Championships, became the first Engineer to earn all-academic honors in consecutive years.

Repking became the first men's cross country runner in more than a decade to receive the honor.

“This award is a tribute to the dedication of our cross country team, both in the classroom and in competition.  Few student-athletes across the nation have the academic challenges and opportunities that Rose-Hulman provides.  Individually, Rachel and Matt define the virtues of the true student-athlete and are extremely deserving of this award,” said head coach Larry Cole.
