The 2002 version of IBJ's Who's Who in Technology list was compiled by its editorial staff with input from industry and technology officials. It was published in the publication's October 7 - 13 edition. Hulbert was selected for his leadership which been vital to Rose-Hulman earning a national reputation that has resulted in the college being ranked No. 1 for four consecutive years in its educational category by U.S. News & World Report. The college has also received the Indiana Quality Improvement Award three times and it recently exceeded the $200 million goal of the largest fund-raising campaign in the school's history. Eifert was selected for his leadership as the president of Rose-Hulman Ventures, a technology-based incubator and product development center created in 1999 with a $29.7 million grant to Rose-Hulman from the Lilly Endowment. Twenty-eight companies are partnering with RHV to stimulate economic growth in the state. Rose-Hulman Ventures combines technical excellence, capital resources, and an entrepreneurial spirit to accomplish economic development objectives. RHV's mission also includes creating increased career opportunities to retain new engineering graduates in Indiana. Eifert received the 2001 Indiana Information Technology Association Cyberstar Award for outstanding individual contributions to the technology industry. He was also one of three honorees who were the first inductees into the Indiana Information Technology Association (INITA) Trailblazers in Technology Hall of Fame. Other Rose-Hulman representatives on the list include 1970 Rose-Hulman graduate Wayne Patrick, president of Professional Data Dimensions in Indianapolis; and Rose-Hulman trustees Robert Compton, chairman and CEO of NoInk Communications; and Scott Jones, chairman, president and CEO of Escient Technologies. |
