Rose-Hulman Ventures a Leader in Indiana Venture Capital Deals

Terre Haute, IN--Rose-Hulman Ventures is among the state's best sources for venture capital, according to data published in the April 1-7, 2002 edition Indianapolis Business Journal (IBJ).

According to the IBJ, Rose-Hulman Ventures participated in 11 of the 25 largest 2001 Indiana venture capital deals (ranked by value of deal) and held the 6th position out of 11 Indiana venture capital firms (ranked by capital under management).

RHV supports Indiana’s deals between the $50,000 and $1,000,000 range with investments in 2001 totaling $3 million in early stage and established technology companies.

Jim Eifert, Rose-Hulman Ventures president said, “Indiana has made many advances in technology and economic development. However, there is much work to be done - particularly in the area of venture capital.” Eifert makes reference to the IBJ list. “We are pleased with the fact that Rose-Hulman Ventures participated in 11 of the 25 largest deals in the State. However, we are concerned with the lack of other players in this arena. As we continue to assess technology-related ventures within the state, we hope to work even closer with other potential investors to facilitate a flow of capital to the start-ups that we believe can provide a foundation for economic growth throughout the state and provide returns that are acceptable for these investors. We are confident that the momentum realized by capital infusion at the seed and first round level will make a difference and we are very eager to help other investors get involved in investing in Indiana companies.”
